2010

I’m back from my trip to LA where I got to see Eden and bunch of other writing Divas! I miss talking about writing, as I only know a few writers here in northern Nevada, so now I’m ready to get going on my latest project. Wait, make that two projects, both due the end of this month. Eeek.

At least it’s cold outside. How lovely it was to spend a few days in southern California, where it was a balmy 70 degrees every day. I think if it was that nice here I’d have to be outside. But alas, I must chain myself to my computer to write. Oh, I still never cleaned my house. Clean house, then write.

Yup.

Happy New Years!

Snow and Tuesday and Work

Woke up to yet more snow. It looks very pretty until I have to go drive in it. So far I’ve managed to stay in my house for almost three days. Thank god for my neighbor who throws important provisions like tequila and snacks my way once in awhile. But I’m running out of basics and I think I might actually have to go to the store. *shudder*. I also have a serious amount of writing to do. My latest project is coming along nicely. My favorite line from yesterday? “Out of all the women in all the world he had to go and spread chocolate on this one.” I do love a good bad line, and I usually keep them. After all, I am the girl who wrote “She made him hornier than a breadbox.” I still get people emailing me that they love that line. It was from I Love Lacy, by the way. Still one of my favorite things that I have written, even if it’s pure silliness.

In other news, I’m baby-sitting my friends two pit-bull boxer dogs. I really miss having a dog around, so it’s been nice to have them. They cuddle up wherever I am, and I’ve found them to be great at keeping my bed warm, even if my entire bedroom now smells like dog.

I always write to music, and when I’m on a tight deadline, I pick a couple of songs and play them on repeat. Right now I’ve listening to a lot of Mark Farina, who happens to be coming to Reno next month. I’m thinking of going, even though I don’t know a lot of people who like house music. However, considering I’ll just have finished this book, I think it might be a good way to celebrate. Get a little groove on, right? Meanwhile, I need to clean my house, drink more coffee and write.

It’s almost 2010. How did that happen? Luckily I’m going to celebrate with a little trip to LA to see a whole bunch of my BFFS, like my fellow Smutketeer Lisa Aronson. I need to practice up on my karaoke skills.

But before I do that, I need to clean my house, drink more coffee, and write. Wait, did I say that already? Alrighty then. Back to work.

Festivus!

I hereby declare that I’m celebrating Festivus this year.

In other news, we’ve had a couple of feet of snow. Normally, snuggling up with my computer and writing while it’s freezing outside is kind of my idea of awesome. However, right now I’m having a hard time getting motivated. I’d rather watch Buffy. Or make stew. Mmmm. Stew.

Off to the store to get stew ingredients. Then more writing.

Any Day Now

I’ll finish this proposal.
My kid will stop yelling at me.
My kid will eat a vegetable.
I’ll get my period.
My roses will loose their blooms.
It will snow.
I’ll be at the airport.
Someone will cook me dinner.
I’ll learn how to balance my checkbook.
I will read a book from start to finish.
I’ll have my tattoo finished.
I’ll have a Professional Author Photo of me taken.
I’ll eat an amazing meal at an amazing restaurant.
I’ll quit smoking.
I’ll go to yoga.
I’ll stop word association lists.
I’ll dance.
I’ll laugh with my girlfriends.
Someone I really want to talk to will call me.
Something exciting will arrive in the mail.
I’ll develop patience.
My deceased mom’s birthday will come and go.
My Uggs will fall apart.
My car will run out of gas.
I’ll dye my roots.
I will finish painting my walls.
Someone will bring me a ladder so I can reach the top of the walls.
I will clean my bathroom.
This Clash song will get out of my head.
I’ll write something so amazing I cry.

Any day now.
